Mechanical Hysteresis in Actin Networks: Supplementary information

چکیده
Monomeric actin (G-actin) was purified using protocol adapted from Ref.[1] from rabbit skeletal muscle acetone powder (Pel Freeze Biologicals, Product code: 41008-3). Small aliquots of actin solution were drop frozen in liquid nitrogen, and stored at -80 oC. For each experiment fresh aliquots of frozen actin were thawed and used. FLN was purified from chicken gizzard and aliquots were also stored at -80 oC. In-vitro network formation 10X actin polymerization-buffer (2 mM TrisHCl, 2 mM MgCl2, 100 mM KCl, 0.2 mM DTT, 0.2 mM CaCl2, 0.5 mM ATP, pH 7.5) was mixed with freshly thawed FLN. Freshly thawed G-actin was mixed with 1X Ca-G-buffer (2mM Tris-HCl, 0.2mM ATP, 0.5mM DDT, 1mM NaN2 and 0.1mM CaCl2, pH 8). 1X Ca-G-buffer containing G-actin and 10X actin polymerization buffer containing FLN were mixed gently for 10 s just before loading the sample to initiate the polymerization process of actin filaments in the rheometer sample chamber.

Evolutionary design principles of modules that control cellular differentiation: consequences for hysteresis and multistationarity
MOTIVATION Gene regulatory networks (GRNs) govern cellular differentiation processes and enable construction of multicellular organisms from single cells. Although such networks are complex, there must be evolutionary design principles that shape the network to its present form, gaining complexity from simple modules. RESULTS To isolate particular design principles, we have computationally ev...

Modeling SMA actuated systems based on Bouc-Wen hysteresis model and feed-forward neural network
Despite the fact that shape-memory alloy (SMA) has several mechanical advantages as it continues being used as an actuator in engineering applications, using it still remains as a challenge since it shows both non-linear and hysteretic behavior. To improve the efficiency of SMA application, it is required to do research not only on modeling it, but also on control hysteresis behavior of these m...
متن کاملMechanics of the F-actin cytoskeleton.
Dynamic regulation of the filamentous actin (F-actin) cytoskeleton is critical to numerous physical cellular processes, including cell adhesion, migration and division. Each of these processes require precise regulation of cell shape and mechanical force generation which, to a large degree, is regulated by the dynamic mechanical behaviors of a diverse assortment of F-actin networks and bundles....
متن کاملExperimental Hysteresis Identification and Micro-position Control of a Shape-Memory-Alloy Rod Actuator
In order to exhaustively exploit the high-level capabilities of shape memory alloys (SMAs), they must be applied in control systems applications. However, because of their hysteretic inherent, dilatory response, and nonlinear behavior, scientists are thwarted in their attempt to design controllers for actuators of such kind. The current study aims at developing a micro-position control system ...
